freezing our bums off on the Champs Elysee for my birthday back in january. hands down one of the best times of my life so far, minus nearly dying of sugar overload from all the la duree macroons i shoved in my face. it kills me that neil hates paris with a passion but im determined to go back before the end of next year. nicole? ready when you are.

Woke up from my 10pm “nap” to an amazing email from Carmichael Gallery with some consignment Shepard Fairey pieces. A few of them caught my attention, but this just blew my mind. UV ink on WOOD!? 58.5” x 44”. 1 of 1. Unbelievable.

“The problem with shooting the NBA slam-dunk contest was that you never knew how the players were going to dunk, especially Jordan. In 1997 he had twirled and dunked with his back to me. But by this time I knew him a little better. As he sat in the stands three hours before the contest, I said, “Michael, can you tell me which way you’re going to go, so I can move and get your face in the picture?” He looked at me as if I were crazy but then said, “Sure. Before I go out to dunk I’ll put my index finger on my knee and point which way I’m going.” I said, “You’re going to remember that?” And he said, “Sure.” So later, when they announced his name, I looked over to him on the bench and there was his finger pointing left. I got up and moved to the right side of the basket so I could see his face. He went left every time he dunked. On his last two dunks he ran the length of the court, took off from the foul line and slammed the ball through. On the next-to-last one he landed in my lap. On the last one I set up in the same spot. This is my official big fat ‘FUCK YOU’ to white balance/color balance. You have messed with my head for too many hours to count. I’m tired of this dysfunctional relationship where you always win and I’m reduced to a shuddering, miserable heap who can’t see anymore. FUCK THAT. From this point on, I’ll be taking cues from Tim and Frank and just doing my own thing. There is beauty in imperfection, I just have to believe it. *kanyeshrug

Editing pictures from our food extravaganza excursion in Seattle last weekend & fustrated beyond belief at how crummy I am at this. Levels, color balance, hues, saturation - everything always looks off in my pictures to me.

1) Any suggestions on how to maintain eyesight? I’m stuck in front of my computer 10+ hours a day writing papers, answering emails & designing and this stupid monitor glare is definitely taking its toll on what was once 20/20 vision. I’m actually scared to visit an optometrist - help!
2) What’s the best photo editing software for Macs? Apparently no matter how many hours I spend on Photoshop tweaking every possible setting, my processing always looks wack.
3) What is your favorite part of the day and why? (this is my attempt at getting to know my followers better :))

Amidst a pending offer from my current agency, I’m headed to my other home this weekend for a much needed reminder of just how much I love the big apple. The 10+ hours of flying are worth the 48 hours on the ground with the man of my dreams as we write the prelude to a new chapter in my life.
… Also curious to take measurements of the floor to ceiling windows in the master bedroom. I’d like to see if this “floating desk” concept is truly executable.
